Did you know that Ayurveda has been around for at least 5,000 years? Originated in India thousands of years ago, Ayurveda is one of the worlds oldest holistic healing systems. In Sanskrit, Ayurveda translates to “the knowledge of life”. It is considered to be Yoga’s “sister science”.

In Ayurveda, it is believed that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit. The mind and body make up every human being.  These qualities, according to Ayurveda, are called “doshas”. Doshas derive from the the five elements of nature – water, earth, fire, space, and air.  Our doshas -vata, pitta, and Kapha, are biological energies found all through the body and mind.  Ayurveda focuses on the balance of these doshas. When these doshas are balanced, the state of being is healthy. Outside forces like stress, anxiety, over exertion, dehydration can push a person into a state of “vikruti” – when the mind and body are out of balance.

Ayurveda aims to balnace the doshas, and holistically maintain and improve you health, regardless of age and gender. It is the perfect organic approach to overall wellness.
